This is a very nice example of a hard to find AH Fox Single Barrel Trap gun which was made in the first year of Fox single barrel production, 1919.

Fox only produced approx 571 single barrel guns of all grades and only about 410 J grades. This gun is a very nice example of a hard to find Fox.

32" barrel with ventilated rib. Twin ivory sights. Barrel bore .731 .   Choke .037.   Mint mirror bore. No dings, dents, or pits. Barrel retains 98% original bright Fox factory blue. Original un-lengthened chamber. Marked Chromox Fluid Steel.

This J grade is adorned with gorgeous generous scroll engraving covering the receiver...top of barrel & rib stippled. This gun retains a very high percentage of it's original color case hardening throughout. Fox color was not vivid during this period but rather was mostly grey, blue, putty and straw hues. This gun has nice original color when examined...most wear limited to the bottom of the frame.

Very handsome walnut buttstock and forend with alot of color and figure in stock. Period correct solid red leather faced recoil pad which if not original has been on the gun for a very long time. Fantastic shootable dimensions: LOP 14 1/4", DAC 1 5/8" , DAH 2 1/2 ". Capped pistol grip. One minor hairline crack on bottom of forened and a tiny (filled) chip at rear of top tang. Neither one an issue.

This wonderful Fox is a pleasure to shoot on the trap field....mechanically tight and crisp. This gun crushes targets the way it did nearly 100 yrs ago.   This is a great gun which can be enjoyed and will continue to appreciate. Priced right for immediate delivery.
